Since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast, Portland’s artists and musicians have organized several events to help the victims of this natural disaster. Now over 30 of the finest poets and spoken-word performers in Portland have joined forces to contribute to the relief effort. Please join us at Acme on Sunday, October 16th from 3:00-8:30pm for a very special marathon reading and raffle. Readers include Judith Barrington, Vern Rutsala, David Biespiel, Leanne Grabel, Tiffany Brown, Kevin Sampsell, James Grabill, Doug Marx, Primus St. John, Carlos Reyes, Kate Gray, and many more. Acme is located on SE 8th and Main -- one block north of Hawthorne -- and is equipped with a full bar and restaurant. Admission on a sliding scale from $5-20. All proceeds, including 10% of the bar, will be donated to Northwest Medical Teams. For more information, or to donate an item for the raffle, contact Jason.
