I am opening up my writers group to new members for the fall. It has been a blast! Last year WERD ran from November through June. We had some time off for the holidaze and we took the summer off. I do not charge a fee for this writers group.

WERD is a Portland Writers Group that was formed last November 2004 to create a small, intimate atmosphere to support various writers of all genres on their quest to get motivated, keep motivated, and continue to write. We have a weekly "challenge" along with quick writes etc. The members range from beginners to published writers. We also encourage spoken word, and do open mics. It is a wonderful small group of people that are motivated and comitted to helping each other strive and stay motivated.

My background:

I received my BA at New York Univ in writing and have an MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington Univ and have taught writing workshops to adults back east, as well as currently at Portland COmmunity College, I had a few poems published in lit mags, and had a weekly commentary I wrote and read on the radio in New England. My two loves are Poetry and creative non-fiction.
